IFilters Tab |

Microsoft Indexing Service uses IFilters to interpret given file types into easily searchable text. FileLocator Network can use these indexing service filters, without the need to run the indexing service, to help convert files into easily searchable text.
To instruct FileLocator Network to use a given IFilter simply add the extension of the files that use the filter to the list. The IFilter is then shown in the Documents tab as active.
Important: The IFilter must already be installed on each computer for it to work. If no filter is found then FileLocator Network will try and open the file as normal, i.e. in raw binary format. |
